"Capitalism, Imperialism and Patriarchy: The Dilemma of Third World Women Workers in Multinational Factories", Linda Y.C. Lim
  • Western manufacturers have relocated plants to developing countries in response to competition from Japan and Asia, the crucial factor being the cost of production
  • Patriarchal and Imperialist exploitation: patriarchal society structures itself so that opportunities are divided, women relegated to a narrower range of inferior positions. Multinational and local employers take advantage of this by employing them at lower wages and poorer working conditions than the men of their country, and women of more developed countries
